Hi everyone! My name’s Elena Mushinskaya and I’m the creator of Spiders.

I’ve been teaching English to children and teens for more than 6 years now, successfully using many different tutorials and textbooks. Two years ago though, as the potential for online education was rapidly growing, I also started teaching English online.

Teaching via an online platform as opposed to the more traditional classroom or one-to-one environments was a great method but it came with its own challenges. Using old style textbooks and tutorials designed for more traditional teaching situations just didn’t work effectively for the unique conditions of online teaching.

Although I spent many hours, days, and weeks surfing the web searching for interactive materials appropriate for online tutoring, I couldn’t find anything great and helpful. This lack of suitable content inspired me to create and launch Spiders.

I’m proud to say that all of the lessons and other resources that I’ve created here have been tested with my own students, showing positive and effective results. Moreover, thanks to the wide use of technology in classrooms, such as interactive whiteboards and projectors, all the lessons on Spiders are as effective for traditional teaching environments as when used in an online setting. My mission is to create a wonderful archive of content all in one place, so that you can have more time for other aspects of your professional and personal life and continue to be the amazing tutors that you are.
